Yana Dee was raised in the north woods of the Keweenaw Penninsula. An artist and designer she has been active in the Northern Michigan arts community since a young age. Homeschooled she was given the freedom to pursue her interests and throughout her childhood she developed a strong connection to making, sharing and and teaching art. Her longest focus has been jewelry and beadworking in which she has displayed, sold and traded her work at art shows, music festivals and community events throughout Michigan and in her travels abroad. Through her studies at university she developed a passion for natural building, ceramics and fashion design. For the past 3 years she has traveled extensively to natural building projects, organic farms, and art and music festivals throughout the Michigan US, Mexico and Thailand.
